Report to Briselda: An Odyssey of Love

This is the most extraordinary book I have read in years. It is about the journey of a man through many failed marriages and relationships in search of true and lasting love – what he calls eros. Peavy, now a retired pastor and university professor, recaptures the meaning of eros and reinvigorates it as he takes us into the deepest chambers of his life and tells us what “walls would say if they could talk.”

As an author myself and a counselor to those who are struggling in relationships as well as those who are laboring to get out of a relationship or over one,  I know what it takes to write a book and this book hits the mark. I was touched and moved beyond the experience of a mere spectator. Peavy begins by inviting us on a journey but soon we discover that we are not just passengers. We, the readers, find ourselves engrossed in a great love story in which we want to intervene. I highly recommend this book and challenge all lovers and would-be lovers to come aboard.
